  1. Hi Slopefarm. Alas, that big hulk of a condo does completely block any view of Manhattan. if only they had stopped at 10 floors. Oh Well. I was hoping that there would be something at Grand Army Plaza or in the harbor. May try Redhook, but then again may wait till next year. I’ll join any petition to get the fireworks back to the East River. Darn Jersey! Don’t they have fireworks in Newark?

  2. I think that since we lost the Battle of Brooklyn we aren’t allowed to have any fireworks of our own.

Damn Tories showing them the Jamaica Pass.

I say we use this board to organize calls to Macy’s, complaining bitterly about moving the fireworks to Jersey. Anyone got a phone number?

  3. RED HOOK!
you can pretty much set up shop at any road that has access to the harbor and watch unobstructed views of the fireworks – the cops leave you alone and you can actually park your car (gasp) very close to the action!

  4. Turtle, have you been up on your roof? Does 500 4th Ave block your view of the downtown and midtown office bldgs? If not, I imagine nothing will and you will probably be able to see the fireworks. Might be worth a shot.

  5. Someone told me this morning that the Macy’s fireworks from the Hudson River will be much higher this year and certainly visible from Brooklyn. Didn’t see the story myself so don’t know if it’s only wishful thinking.

    I don’t care anyway. I won’t be here.

  6. Sadly, I think you will need to be at the top of a really tall building to see fireworks from Brooklyn this year.

We can all sit around by the Old Stone House and watch lightning bugs instead, I guess.
