I’m looking for someone who really knows what they’re doing in terms of erecting/installing fencing, for our backyard. Not easy enough for us to do on our own because we need it installed over a large bluestone patio, and with a gate put in. Would love any recommendations you have. Thanks.

  1. We just used Fence Plaza to replace the cedar fence on three sides of our yard and were very impressed with their work. George was a pleasure to deal with, and his crew was very professional, hard-working and knowledgeable, and clearly took pride in their work. They worked through the rain to get our fence completed in one day. Their prices were comparable to other fence companies offering a similar product. We would recommend them highly to anyone looking for a fence contractor.

  2. We used Amendola–pricey but a decent job; one hardware challenge they flubbed, but to be honest I have never really asked for a make-good on it. Decent fencing costs an arm and a leg; you quickly see why hideous chain-link is so popular.

  3. I used Amendola’s for a fence last year — they were a little pricier than Bracci but otherwise I was very happy with them. They did a great job dealing with the fence around a tree that straddles my property line. I liked the guy from Bracci too but he didn’t have any good ideas for dealing with the tree.

  4. I had Bracci Fence (718) 284-7300 do a cedar fence for me last year. They were less expensive then Amendola’s. Plus the Amendola’s salesperson misled me about the warranty.

I was happy with the service and outcome and would recommend them.

  5. I just got an estimate from Amendola’s, as they came highly recommended. 65 linear feet, 5′ cedar fence with a 1′ lattice topper – and they are telling me it will run $4,800. That includes hauling away the old fence, all labor, posts, caps, the whole thing. I am taken aback at the cost – but, again, after quizzing many people, this was the company recommended.

  6. You can also try Plaza Fence 718-469-2200 http://www.fenceplaza.com/
They did a gate, trellis, and backyard fence for the folks across the street from me, and on their recommendation I had them replace my driveway gate (including a new post sunk in concrete) and add small section of stockade fence in my backyard.
