My husband and I live in Brooklyn Heights.. and plan to take the leap into dog ownership.

Could anyone suggest a dog walker and help us understand the costs and any differences in the services that people provide?

Thanks a lot in advance.

  2. Finding a great dog walker is important. There are several ways to do it, either a referral from a friend, referral from a pet service, Google or other search engine. Or you can look to one of the many dog walking directories online.

Good luck with your dog walker search.

  3. Barklyn Heights pet care is a really great choice if you are in the Brooklyn Heights area. I feel me and my dogs get more personalized and consistent service because it isn’t a big company. Christina the owner has a great handle on my 2 dogs, and they can definitely be a handful. She is very reliable and has a great attitude. They also offer pet sitting for dogs and cats. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a dog walker or pet sitter in Brooklyn Heights.

  4. We pay $15/walk in Cobble Hill. We had a dog walker last year that was cheaper, but we had to let them go because we weren’t comfortable with their handling skills. It sounds silly, but be sure you get someone experienced and competent. The last thing you need is to deal with someone who lets your dog get away, or get into a fight. A lot can happen on the busy streets of Brooklyn.

  5. BEST LOG IN NAME EVER! Robert Haussman is a dog trainer who also walks dog in the area – his web site is dogboynyc.com. I’m not sure if he is expensive, we used him for training and he was great.

  6. My friend Julye does it through a service. I don’t remember the name of the service but her number is 917-549-3996, she’s great with animals!
