Came home this morning to Bloomberg commercial/interviews being filmed in front of my house. Do I have any rights? Shouldn’t they have asked before setting up shop in front of my place?

I have to admit it’s slightly entertaining to hear the non-bloomberg supporters harrass them as they walk by… but this is odd. why are they here?

  1. MistyB maybe you’re overly non-confrontational? I would certainly demand to be able to enter my own house on my terms, and make a scene if they don’t let me. Bet they would.

When Julia was filming next door to me, the crew were extremely polite and accommodating, only stopping people crossing the immediate area for a few minutes at a time, but you could still cross on the other side.

  2. It weird how when the side walk is all decayed and broken I have to fix it, and yet it’s not my property when it comes to film set.

  3. If they have permits and are not on your property, the can shoot wherever they want. I had to deal with all the Sex and the City and Law and Order shows in my neighborhood. They’d shoot right in front of my building, blocking the entrance and I actually had to wait outside across the street with my dogs until they finished their scene! They don’t care…

  4. I think they’re allowed to be there if they have the necessary permits and are not encroaching on your property. If your house shows in the commercial you could have some fun by hanging a sigh saying something less than complementary about “his honor”. That might get the film crew to move on 🙂
