Still alive and kickin over here at Southstuy–I have probably had the most snarky remarks and haven’t utilized the delete button all too often. Haven’t been posting much because not very much has been done but I started the reno blog and I will see it through. so , with a little luck, ill have something to post about in a couple of weeks. Personally I think ts a bummer when reno bloggers just fall off but I can’t blame them entirely as this site’s focus has moved from reno to real estate in the last couple of years. Does anyone know what happened to Ms. Crown Heights?
Yeah, I’ll have one more post next week, than maybe a final self-examination. You can expect some snarky comments, but from a tech pov, you have control to delete them. One guy looked me up (I’ve never kept it a secret who I am) and posted my name, addy, and purchase price. So, if you can’t handle the heat, definitely stay outta the kitchen.
Especially if you’re planning to put a 48″ Wolf range in there, lol.
bkrels…he’s a guy who live around the corner from me and has done a few in the neighborhood. He come recommended from Bill Cunningham who is going to run for city council and he did his brownstone work as well.
He hasn’t finished mine yet. Just at the stage of laying the base coat which, unfirtunately has to be completely dry before the brownstone goes on and is delayed.

Peter of Bed Stuy Reno showed up at the October ’08 Brownstoner gathering. He may just be done and be tied up with life. Most of the current bloggers are done — Peter, denton, et al. The site needs new bloggers, but I think there may be fewer people taking on ambitious projects. that said, someone did take a gratuitous swipe at Peter’s DIY floor sanding and staining job. Looking forward to DIBS’ facade reno, although its entirely academic to me as we have a frame house.
I’ll have my facade reno up soon. Whats your problem today Putnam??? Someone make a remark about your yard or something?? I find the reno blogs quite interesting and civil. People like you are what causes trouble.

Seems like most of those reno blogs are dead in the water. I assume people decided that Brownstoner wasn’t the friendliest place to blog a reno. Too bad if that is the case…
