Street work on Throop & Decatur
Don’t know if it’s the city or what but street work has been going on in the BedStuy area on the corner of Throop and Decatur. Since this is within the historic district any idea why it was left in such bad condition? The construction work done left the street crumbling, and leaving the area…
Don’t know if it’s the city or what but street work has been going on in the BedStuy area on the corner of Throop and Decatur. Since this is within the historic district any idea why it was left in such bad condition? The construction work done left the street crumbling, and leaving the area looking very unattractive. Leaves me to wonder if this was one of those uppity areas, would things be the same.

This is where you use your local community board.
They should know – or should be able to find out – what work was being done there, when it should be finished, and help to enforce that when its done, the proper cleanup is performed. They have a paid staff whose job it is to do this for their community.
I don’t think they are finished well I hope not anyway… I live a block away from this site on MacDonough and if this looks like this next month they are going to get more than a 311 call…
It happens in every neighborhood of the city, all the time. If you want the city to do something about it call 311 and file a complaint.
