hi — I have two claw-foot tubs and a sink original to my 1910 house that need re-finishing/reglazing. Am looking for recommendations from fellow B’stoners. If you can tell me what type of finish was used and how it has held up, all the better. Thanks so much.

  1. The only thing I can tell you is to avoid whatever company operates out of 7116 Fort Hamilton Parkway, Brooklyn, 11228. They reglazed my tub a few years back offering a 5 year warranty on the work. When the thing started coming off a year later I called them and they pretended to be a different company (even though I was clearly speaking to the same people). Very annoying.

I then used this guy to redo the whole thing http://nymag.com/listings/stores/Custom-Spraying-and-Reglazing/
the job seemed to hold up much better, although we sold the house about 1.5 years after that, so I can’t tell whether it continues to last. I would use him again though.

  2. I use Bathroom Reglazing Professionals Corp. for all of my renovations. Speak to Edgar @ 718-309-7208 or Jose @ 646-358-0245, they are professional… Tell them Al Rosario sent the Rec.

  3. There is a company in NJ that American Standard recommends for all their repair work and they reglaze as well. I’ve had nothing but good experience with them and they’re reasonably priced. Ace Repair – speak with Todd @ 973-759-8447

  4. I used cozytub.com -$250. It has held up fine for about 2 years (in a rental apt) though I can’t say I know much about the process -how it should be done or if this is just a generic version that is okay for a generic tub but not what you want for high end results. He just came in and sprayed it. It looks fine to me.
