Hi all,
We are about to close on a brownstone in a landmarked area that has a sidewalk violation. I need an estimate for sidewalk repair for the front of the house (25 feet). I can email the violation to estimater (with diagram of sidewalk and issues) if that helps. Landmarks has approved it and states it must be “concrete paving, tinted dark blue grey to match the color of bluestone and the new slate paving” which is located in an adjoining area. We’d like it to have the uneven texture of bluestone as well, I think that is done with a “concrete stamp” – but would need to be a big one!?? thank you!
Please post here or email me at info145halsey @ yahoo.com
Thanks!

  1. I recently used Vin Roy Baronette of Park Slope Brownstone 646 554-4513 on the rec of several on this site. I also googled him and found a rec for him as the person who worked for This Old House in Prospect Heights.

I found him responsive by phone (he does NOT text) and very easy to deal with. Good job at a reasonable price – half of what the other company I called quoted, AND he pulled a city permit for the work. I’m just outside the landmark area, with slate sidewalks.

  2. Not sure that Landmarks is going to encourage a concrete stamp. They are more interested in the tint of the concrete rather than texturing it. If it’s not done well, texturing concrete doesn’t make it look like concrete and doesn’t look like stone, but some kinda third thing whatever you’d call it.

  3. Haven’t done it myself, but as no one else has responded I will just say that I notice that Buscarello does a lot of the jobs I see in my neighborhood (Park Slope).

I am not posting a contact as from a quick googling of Buscarello there are at least two (brothers maybe?) who do contracting work in Brooklyn.

  5. This is original poster. I meant to say that I would love recommendations for people who have done sidewalk repair for readers here so that I can get quotes… sorry not clear!
