I want to retile the “floor” in front of a decorative fireplace. Any thoughts on tiles that might look nice there?

My parents used a slab of white marble.
It wasn’t extremely expensive because they cut it out of a left over piece and It looks VERY nice.
http://www.gascoals.net has a great selection of these type of decorative tiles. I actually just used a solid mahogany color and it looks great.
