  1. Boofer, nothing to be scared of.
While I’m generally a shy person and not very talkative and don’t drink. I had a nice time at the last get together. I was very hesitant in going but I’m glad I did, as it was fun. You can just go for a few and if you feel uncomfortable leave.

Everyone I met that night was very nice.
I might not be at this gathering and will miss meeting some of the people I’ve grown fond of and enjoy conversing with.

    So go and have fun.

  2. We’re not that insular, boo. We had a gathering in October, and I think some of the old timers got together another time quite a while back. Nothing to be scared of unless what shows up off his meds and packing heat. 😉 That didn’t happen the last time.

I didn’t talk to everyone, last time, but I did talk to Biff, BRG, DIBS, wasder, masterplvmber, smokeychimp, montrose, rob, Adam Dahill, Bob Marvin, turtlejam19, rh, cobblehiller and better half (very briefly — sounds like a variety show act), among others. An enjoyable evening, no reason not to do it again.

  3. boofer, I believe almost everyone, with a few exceptions, met each other for the first time at the last get together. But given how familiar most people were with each other’s posts, it was remarkably easy and very interesting to meet and talk to each other. Nothing to be scared of. Some people indicated they were a bit hesitant to go last time, but after the event, those individuals unanimously agreed they were very pleased they showed up. It was tons of fun.

  4. We had two get togethers boofer…maube 8-10 the first time and more like 20 the second time. It was great fun.

boofer…I got another email from the broker on that dean st. clapboard…i posted it in the Open Thread today.

  5. Forget Spongebob. Bob the Builder might work for Heather’s kid and be appropriately thematic for the Brownstoner crowd. Extreme Makeover Home Edition meets Thomas the Tank Engine. If that doesn’t work, there’s always the original Scooby Doo series, in which the purported ghost usually turns out to be a skanky developer trying to lower land values, scare an old widowed matron into selling prime property or trump up a fraudulent claim to title.
