I was going to use Home Depot to get all my materials; subway tiles, vanity, carrera top and faucets. The pricfes seem good. What do you think? Could I do better or get better quality for the same price?

  1. So thanks for the Park Slope lead they are really good. But I’m not sure about getting a counter top. Which is better granite or marble ?

  2. I just bought tiles from Tile Depot (on Steuben St near the intersection of Flushing Avenue and the BQE). They have a great selection of stuff, good prices, and they are really nice and helpful.

  3. Another vote for Park Slope plumbing. Good selection (more than you’d think looking at the size of the store from outside), nice helpful staff, and prices seemed reasonable to me (although we did get a bit of a discount through our contractor).

They don’t do tiles, but you could check out A&K Tiles not far away (9th St.)–tell them what price range you’re thinking and they can show you lots of options.

  4. if you like glass tile, you can get really fabulous glass mosaic tile for little more than subway tile from hakatai.com — look at the classic range. we get them for around $3psf.

  5. Park Slope Plumbing is great. We used them for our bathroom and our kitchen.

I don’t think they do tiles.

If you go to Home Depot, your house will look like you went to Home Depot.

  6. You can try Park Slope Plumbing Supply on the corner of 5th. Avenue and Prospect Avenue. They have a nice showroom for Bathroom fixtures and also a separate Kitchen showroom.
