As I’m preparing the complaint form from New York City Department of Consumer Affairs, there is a mention of a “letter to vendor”. Is this something I need to be concerned about? Most of my conversations between my contractor has been through email and phone calls.

  1. Thanks for the tip, I’m working on it now… I’m also requesting the license #s, full names and work addresses of the individuals whom he had work at my place.

  2. legally, phone calls and emails mean little in a preceding such as this. I suspect they want to see some evidence that you tried to resolve the issue. A certified letter stating your position to the vendor would be the least evidence the city/state would require to proceed with a hearing.
