I don’t have much space in the kitchen so I am limited in my selection but can’t seem to find any outstanding recommendations online. This article is about the laundry-cleaning apparatus. For the Sonic Youth album, see Washing Machine (album).
Front-loading washing machine.
A washing machine, or washer, is a machine designed to clean laundry, such as clothing, towels and sheets. The term is mostly applied only to machines that use water as the primary cleaning solution, as opposed to dry cleaning (which uses alternative cleaning fluids, and is performed by specialist businesses) or even ultrasonic cleaners.

Miele Novotronic. Kind of expensive, but we’ve had our w/d since 1999 with not one single problem, and we probably do 10 loads a week (we have 2 kids…). Although I think a bearing in the dryer is squalling a bit, but I’d buy another in heartbeat. You can’t get huge amounts of laundry in, obviously, but it’s quiet and very efficient. the one downside is that the wash cycle is long, but that’s the price for water/detergent efficiency
Thanks Daveinbedstuy. Could you be more specific bayridgegirl? I’ve noticed there is a wide selection of 24″ machines, the problem is picking the right one. I was hoping to hear some success stories about people and their undercounter washer dyers.
sorry, I didn’t mean for my post to be snippy.

knock yourself out…plenty of washers and dryers that are 24″ wide.
Look at Miele also.
I can find out next week when I return home. I didn’t buy them, they were there when I bought the house.
