Oil tank
I have an oil tank in the basement, that is no longer being used since the house was converted to gas, does anyone have any suggestions for removal or insight in getting rid of one? TIA

A friend of mine in the bronx got it taken out for free by some scrap metal guys.
We used these guys to drain, cut up and remove our oil tank:
Petroleum Tank Cleaners
236 Butler St
Brooklyn, NY 11217
(718) 624-4842
I think it cost about $1300 (in 2007) and it was finished in about 2 hours. They did a good job and provided proper documents for the FDNY regarding the removal of the tank.
I had this removed during the course of conversion to gas… The plumber/s drained it, cut it in half and took it away. Any professional plumber should be able to do it or maybe you could call con ed, keyspan or national whatever it is today for a reference for conversion and just have them take your tank away.
