We are looking to purchase a multifamily building with our son who will live in it and we will rent out the rest of the units. I realize this going to be a complicated mortgage and I am concerned this is going to be problematic in the current mortgage market. Does anyone have a recommendation of a mortgage broker who is experienced and competent with unusual mortgages.

I’ve had great luck with Rob Lepanto at Manhattan Mortgage, and he handled my mother’s mortgage as well, which was somewhat complicated. Also, I think that the mortgage market is not as bad as it was. Now it’s just that people aren’t spending, which is partly good, but it means that businesses are needing to lay people off, which could be a bad spiral.
