minwax polyshades
Has anyone used minwax polyshades to re-finish pine that has been stripped of paint. I want something that will sort of hide the tiny little white spots and uneven tones of the pine . . .

I have a question about minwax polyshades.
I’m re-finished my very cheap, Home Depot parquet wood tiles and don’t want to spend a lot of time or money on them. The polyshades looks like it might work best. I’m planning on staining them black or ebony.
Has anyone tried this? Also, the tiles have a very thin finish of them that rubs off very easily. I’m just not a fan of sanding.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated !

I used it on a lot of stripped woodwork in my ground floor hallway, some oak, some pine. It gave a pretty cool antiqued look over the imperfections (but this is wood that had been stripped of shellac, not white paint, so the crevices appeared darker than the surrounding wood.) Gel Stain and then poly might cover imperfections better. There’s a good posting here http://www.hawthornestreet.com/2007/11/paint-strip-woo.html
good luck!
