Does anybody have a good site to search for foreclosures? I’ve tried some of the subscription sites, but they come up empty half the time, which makes me wonder…

Any help appreciated.

  1. Yeah, “foreclosure lists” sounds like an objective source of information…. OP, there are people that work this market ruthlessly. You really need to know what you are doing because the risk of over-paying or getting scammed somehow is very real. In other words, ‘what hannibal said,’ and then some.

  2. It is very difficult to buy a forclosed home because there are parisites like the real estate agents and the bankrupcy law firms that feed off of foreclosures before they even hit the market. My bet advice is to start looking for a house when you see more that 2 or 3 for sale signs on the same block. Trust me you will see for sale signs popping up like umbrellas on a beach in July

  4. I recommend brownstoner[dot]com for future foreclosures. You can find them in the OHP, COTD and HOTD threads. Get’em while they’re under the radar.

  5. most of the sites are available for a fee. not everyone has an access to them since many law firms specialize in foreclosures and that is how they make money.

    you can try the county clerk and the bid. Careful because if you have no expirience with it you may get burned.

    Those properties come without any inspections nor liens on the property or any type of information as to what is going on with the real property. And trust me, there can be planty going on!

  6. Propertyshark is the answer. However, you probably want to look at the lis pendens lists more than foreclosure. By the time theres a foreclosure scheduled, it’s difficult to do much with it.

    Bidding on foreclosures is not an easy matter.
