Does anyone have a recommendation for a good, not too expensive lawyer for a legal question regarding a will? It is not a complicated issue, but I’m asking for an out-of-state friend who is administering a will in NY. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Agree with bohuma that estate laws differ from state to state.
Estate Law varies slightly from state to state. Your friend should contact the bar association in their state and get some names. What is true under NY law may not be true under your friend’s state’s law.

unless he was doing you a favor, you’d be better off going to “we the people” – odds are he has a form, plugged in your name and didn’t spend more than 2 minutes thinking about you or your needs – that is just plain scary
I know someone but he is on S.I. He charges only $75.00 for a will. I just used him. Not sure how much he would charge for just a question. You can call and ask. His name is Nicholas Montalto and he is in the West Brighton section, if you wanted to contact him.
