Condensation on Windows
I’ve been living at my current house for over 15yrs, recently this year my brother and I have noticed large amounts of condensation on both of our lower portion/ledge of the windows. We have not turned on the heat recently, Aluminum Frames, Looks to be dbl paned but unsure. Thoughts on how to remedy this?

If they are double paned windows, you may have blown a gasket (or otherwise damaged the seal between the panes of glass. Is the condensation inside the apartment, or on the outer pane of glass (in other words, can you touch the glass and feel the condensation, or is it inside the double-paned unit). If its between the panes of glass, you need to replace the whole double-glazed unit. If it is inside the apartment, see bren’s comments above.
And if the windows are not double glazed, storm windows (interior or exterior) would help reduce drafts and save energy.
cold outside air leaking in, meeting with the warm air from inside… voila! condensation… if it’s left, when it gets really cold out, inside window glass will form ice…
seal up the drafts around the windows, that should do the trick!

For some reason, the humidity in your house has increased, and probably also the drafts around the window frame. This site has a pretty good explanation: http://www.gorell.com/pages/contact_gorell.cfm
