i using wood for my BBQ fire department came and say was illegal

  1. The wood was from a falling tree oak , neighbor the call the fire department.
But is less toxic to use wood that to use coal and light it up with fuel.
I did burn wood many time and the charcoal did not melt or anything like that.

  2. How in the world did the fire department catch you burning some wood in your charcoal grill???

I assume it was firewood…oak or something, right?

What woods are toxic slopenick??? Nothing that I know of unless he’s burning door casings with lead paint or pressure treated!!!!

  3. slopenick is right, not all woods are good for bbq’s. You probably want to use wet wood chips from cherry, apple, mesquite, or hickory. Smoke is good- flames are not.

Also, never burn solid wood or charcoal in a gas grill it will melt the casting and the tank hose will catch on fire. Don’t ask me how I know that.

  4. You oughta be pretty careful doing that if you are actually eating stuff cooked over a fire of various unidentified woods. Some can be toxic….
