Alarm Companies
We just moved to a new house, which came with an alarm system installed. We’re now looking for a company to service it. I’ve read past posts in which Gorilla Security and DGA have been recommended. Any other suggestions?

I have an alarm installed with central station monitoring. The service does a good job of responding when the alarm goes off. My concern, however, is that the NYPD would never take a burglar alarm call seriously. Does anyone have any sense of whether the NYPD would actually respond if the central station called them?
If not, has anyone hired a private security company to respond to burglar alarm calls? If so, who did you use? How happy were you? What did it cost?

We use the central station monitoring through safeway security. They are on Ocean Avenue in Sheepshead Bay. I’ve been using them since 1990, first with my condo, and now my house. They are very reliable. Every time we trip the alarm by accident, the central station is calling us within 20 seconds.
