I need a 6″ by 12″ backplate for my intercom..the intercom box that is recessed in the wall is larger than my intercom…just finished a renovation…the super gave me the new intercom…

I have been on the internet and can’t find anything..anyone ever heard of an intercom back plate or faceplate??

Thanks

  1. Green Mt is on the right track. It’s actually 24VAC typically. Nobody actually makes back plates for intercoms. You can use wood, plastic, or metal. All are available at your local home improvement store and you’ll have to be a little creative. I really recommend putting a little piece of tape on the wires and marking where they go back to before you disconnect the intercom. You will forget.

  2. Your intercom is low-voltage, such as 12, not 110. No danger.

If you can not make your own cover out of metal, you can use thin plywood or any convenient material. Your model may be designed to hook on with a bracket. If no bracket, try making a hook.
