I think I found a bedbug today….. not 100% sure, but would like someone to come and fix this ASAP if possible!

Any recommendations?

  1. BedBugchasers.com can help probablly. They are located on Long Island but they use heat to kill the bed bugs and i think it will do the trick they have a great success rate. One of my friends runs the company.

  2. have you got your bug identified ? If it was really a bedbug then you should be care ful as if you find one more are sure to show up. Then treatment against them would be a must. you can get help from bedbugbureau.com on how to eradicate from your premises.

  3. The people who own bedbugbureau (and the company seems to have alternate names) are running a viral marketing campaign where their people join local forums such as this one and try to pretend they are satisfied customers. Please please please do more research before hiring a Pest Control Operator. Don’t believe a recommendation from someone who is brand new on a forum and all he does is recommend this company and write poorly.

Bedbugger.com is a much better completely non-profit resource where you might be able to get a recommendation from someone who is not trying to sell you something.

  4. Before doing anything first get it confirmed whether it is a bed bug or another insect. As it is we get panicked for no reason at all ,at times.

  5. I thought I saw some when packing up my apartment last week, saved them in a glass jar and drove them over to Ecology Exterminators in Sunset Park where the guys there assured me what I had were spider beetles, probably from the packing boxes and not a major problem. If you still haven’t resolved this, try catching one and bringing it to someone to verify.

  6. I second the recommendation to save the bug. I hadn’t had bites but found a little bug that I thought fit the description of a bedbug. Saved it for the exterminator, and it turns out it was a carpet beetle. Not a problem unless we decide to install natural carpets in the future.

I haven’t used them for bed bugs (knock on wood), but they’ve been great for roaches and mice. . . Pestawayinc.com.

  7. we used these guys and they did a good job. they had to come three times which they did (included in their cost is to come as many times as necessary) http://www.DialABedBug.com

if you have the actual bug save it for them to identify.

we never found a single actual bug despite getting eaten alive by them for about 2 months…
