I need to replace a large, 100-year old picture window in the front of my house. The window faces the street and is the centerpiece of hte house. Pella has already told me that the job is beyond their capability.

I need a recommendation for a GREAT custom window maker who would be willing to take on the job of buildinga nd installing this window. Must be fully licensed, insured and and registered with DCA

  1. i am staying out of this thread because I am still looking for my knight in shining armor in the shape of a dozen windows for a condo.

    Good luck with your situation/
    .

  2. I recommend southslope woodworks. nathan is the owner and he is a true craftsman. Definitely his specialty as he builds incredible brownstone reproduction doors and windows (and fixes/refinishes old ones as well).

  3. You definitely need a custom specialist for this. Try: Artistic Windows & Doors, 10 S. Inman Ave., Avenel, NJ 07001, (732)726-9400.
NYC holds no fear for them. Speak with Sam.
Great guy, beautiful work. I am an architect and they are my go-to people for custom windows.

  4. You’ve going to take Pella’s word for it? Ask them! And if not, perhaps they can tell you where other customers they can’t help go for windows.

  5. Pella has told me that both Marvin and Anderson use the same technology and design strategies as they do. Thus, it would be unlikely that Marvin or Anderson would be able to do the job.

It is a REAL custom job.
