Smoke alarm
Help! How do you get an hard wired smoke & CO alarm to stop chirping. I replaced the back up battery, reset it, and soon as I get off the ladder-the damn thing starts chirping again. I was able to stop one from doing this, the 2nd unsucessful. Should I buy a new alarm all…
Help! How do you get an hard wired smoke & CO alarm to stop chirping. I replaced the back up battery, reset it, and soon as I get off the ladder-the damn thing starts chirping again. I was able to stop one from doing this, the 2nd unsucessful. Should I buy a new alarm all together, or do I need an electrician?
The smoke alarm in my place has been doing the same thing. It has been doing it for 2 solid weeks. (sigh)
Thanks, I will both of these a try. (post #2-come to think off it, there was an energizer battery in it before I replaced it with a Duracell).
Take a look at your manual. I had this problem, and for some reason the actual BRAND of battery made a difference. In my case the manual specs Duracell or Energizer ONLY. It stopped the chirping once I replaced it. Go figure….
Perhaps dust or even a spider web is causing the chirping. Dry blowing it with a blow dryer or a can of compressed air.
