Ductless AC - Outside Wall?

Does anyone know whether this is true? Is there some part of the inside unit that needs to be vented outside? Thanks!
A ductless minisplit air conditioner is an excellent choice for any climate and home. These systems are also often used for whole-house cooling in homes with hot water radiant heat (no hot air ductwork). Heat pump models are also available for efficient heating in the winter, too.

Mr.Slim is pretty expensive, overkill unless you need all sorts of advanced featues like a 35mm camera vs. a point and shoot camera. We used EXP Air to install LG units and the price was about half of Mr Slim quote. I sublet an aprtment where they installed a Fujitsu unit also which worked well. Service was decent- they installed a condensate pump to run directly into my drain line in the house; works great since I had few options on where to dump the condensate water but you have to clean it out once in a while to make sure it doesnt backup. sales@expairco.com
9:22 did you have your Mr. Slim installed? I own a condo now that came with a Mr. Slim unit, and I too am happy with it. I just bought a 98 year old townhouse, and was considering going with the Mr. Slim setup. Any idea on a ballpark of what that would cost to have installed?
Steve, and Guest above,
Could you let me know who installed your system, and about how much it cost for how many rooms? Thanks for your help.
Helene
it depends on the model of the unit installed… mine for example allows 40′ of distance
I had a Fujitsu Halcyon system installed in 2005. One of the heads (the inside unit) is mounted on an exterior wall in my office and dumps the condensate on a shed roof extension in the back through a PVC pipe. Another head is mounted on an interior wall in the master bedroom and vents into the house drain.
The compressor is under my rear deck. The master bedroom copper run is at least 50′ and works fine
Thanks everyone. I’m guessing they simply run another line inside the wall for the condensation, which could also be run outside?
try fujitsu halcyon. we installed ours early in spring of 2007. two rooftop compressors serve 2 interior fan units on the ground and 2 more on the parlor floor. the condensate lines are piped to drain to a basement sink. the in-wall power, refrigerant, return and condensate lines are not too large and our system functions very well. the parlor floor units are mounted above the doors to the front and rear parlors where they are out of the way and mostly out of sight.
try Rumba Air. They did a clean and thorough job.
There is a limit on how far you can run the indoor unit from the outdoor. I think it is 25′ or so.
Yes you need to think about the condensate. I thought I was being clever and let it drip into a potted plant. It flooded pretty quickly. I wound up pumping it outside. Another 3/8 hole in the wall.
I love my Mr Slim. Both the indoor and outdoor units are soooo quiet.
