radon?
Having a house inspected for purchase in Windsor Terrace and am wondering whether a radon inspection is wise? I’ve heard it is rare in Brooklyn, but yet I tend to be cautious about these things. Anyone have info on this?

Try to put it in perspective, Martin. Radon is less of a threat than WMDs from Iraq, at least in NY state.
And as for the “second leading” …check the stats…smoking:90, radon:2 or something, I can look ’em up for you if you insist.
I just cannot believe that people are so risk-averse.
Radon is a serious health risk and has been found everywhere, in every state. The only way to know if a home has radon is to test.
Every house should be tested for radon. It is unfortunate that this normally only happens during a real estate transaction.
As you probably already know, radon is the leading cause of lung cancer for non-smokers, and the second leading cause of lung cancer after smoking.
I hope you decide to test.
Regards,
Martin
You might want to check for Borrowers too, hear Park Slope is infested with them.
