New Roof
I have an old brick townhouse in the South Slope. I have had my flashing repaired but think I need a new roof. Can I get a recommendation from anyone out there who has had this done?

I have a flat roof on a brick federal which has had several repairs. I have a leak from the skylight again, and I called a roofer. He said I have many layers of roofing and it all needs to come down. He quoted me $40,000 including insulation, and skylight repair for a completely replaced nd new roof.
Does anyone know anything about roofs? When do I actuaLLY NEED A COMPLETELY NEW ROOF? i HAVE SEVERAL FLATTOP BUILDINGS AND NEVER EVER REMEMBER ANY ROOFING QUOTES LIKE $40,000.
Thanks all for the advice!
The time to think about whether or not you might want to install solar panels is when the roof needs to be redone. It doesn’t make sense otherwise. So now is your chance.
Rogenkamp in Bay Ridge; you’ll pay a little more but you’ll never regret it.
Thanks everyone. It would be cool to have a solar roof. But I have too many projects at this old house to do it now.
Might be a little on the overkill side, but wouldn’t it be cool to get a solar roof?

Greene roofing on Coney Island Ave. – came well recommended, and did a good job for us.
Bensonhurst roofing replaced the roof on my tonwhouse, they were fair priced, and professional. No leaks since.
I dealt with Peter 917-559-4308.
Besides the obvious – having a leak – when is a good time to have your roof worked on? Do you just wait ubtil there’s a leak, or is there such a thing as preventive maintenance?
Ziggi Roofing just did my roof in the north slope. 718 946 2459 I got 5 quotes and they were the 2nd cheapest and their quality looked as good, if not better then the rest. A neighbor had his roof done by them in 2005 and still looks/works great
