Where can i get a cast iron radiator?
Anyone know a place, preferably in brooklyn, to find an old cast iron steam radiatior with a 1 and 1/4 pipe fitting? Maybe someone has one sitting in their basement? I tried some salvage places in manhattan but they all seemed too expensive.

Does any have a phone # for this place on Myrtle Ave.Thanks for the help.
That place mentioned above has on hand about 50 old style STEAM radiators of all sizes and types. $20.00 per section. They also have new ones from China, $17.50 per section. I was there today. They also have a warehouse for your further pleasure to dig deep into the things. Alas no old WATER ones(save Chinese) – if you find please post where!!
Ditto on that plumbing joint, myrtle and franklin. I like those guys–they know their shit. Also, they sold me a terlet snake for literally HALF the price of the same item at Home Despot. Think global, shop local…..
I’m blanking on the exact name of that plumbing place as well… “Kevin and something”, but they’re on Myrtle Ave just east of Franklin. Go in to the shop there and then they’ll take you to a warehouse a couple blocks away with hundreds of old radiators and you can pick the exact shape and size that you want. They sell them for $5/rung. Great plumbing supply place in general and I’m pretty sure they’re open 24/7.
I have a huge one sitting in my hallway.. Not sure if it is 1.25 fitting but it is standard size. it is quite long ( maybe 2.5- 3 feet) and is for a steam system.. I’d sell it to you for $25 bucks if you want it….. call mike 212 229 0688….
As many times as I’ve recommended this place on this forum, I still can’t remember their name…Kevin and Rich?? On Myrtle near um…Kent? Someone will know what I’m talking about and give you the correct info!
