Any suggestions for a very quiet bathroom exhaust fan w/ a light and a place I can buy it tomorrow in Brooklyn? Thanks for your help.

  1. we actually have one of the broan ‘silent’ ones and it’s actually quite noisy…but boy does it move that air! absolutly no moisture or hint of it what so ever. i got used to the noise i guess.

  2. Thank you all for your responses. I went with the majority vote above and chose a Panasonic whisper fan w/ light. The noise level is a 0.6 on the panasonic vs the Broans I tested which were at best a 2.5. Although I much prefer the look of the Broan.

I couldn’t find the panasonic in Brooklyn today, but was fortunate to get the last one in stock at a place on 33rd St in Manhattan.
I had to have it today so I don’t hold the guys up who are doing the bathroom this weekend. Again, thanks for the help!

  3. FWIW Broan and Nutone are the same company and have the same fans with minor trim differences. I had one of each installed about 10 days ago [I bought the Broan and my electrician supplied the Nutone]They’re not very noisy, but you definately can hear them.

  4. another vote for the panasonic whisper fans. Very quiet to the point that we have left them on accidentally. They do have motion sensor versions that avoid that problem which we bought for the 2nd installation. I remember versions with lights but don’t know if they come with motion sensor too. We got ours easily on the internet.

  5. The panasonic whisper fans are so quiet it’s criminal. You can barely tell ours is on when it’s on. And it works GREAT. Our bathroom mirror doesn’t even fog up when it’s on.

We did have to special order ours, but it wasn’t a long wait, and it was well worth it. We got it from that lighting store on Court street in Cobble Hill.
