I recently put in a request to the Surveyor’s Office for a tax lot merger. They really gave me the run around, but finally accepted the paperwork. They said that I should check ACRIS in about two weeks and I would see that the merger was finalized. I’ve been checking for over a month now and the merger still does not show up. The Surveyor’s Office claims they have done everything on their end and I just need to wait for the “assessors” at Dept of Finance to input the data into ACRIS. Apparently the “assessors” don’t speak with the public, and the Surveyor’s Office will only tell me “the assessors must be backed up.” Does anyone know how else I can get proof that a tax lot merger has been processed? If there’s no other way than ACRIS, any suggestions on how to get Finance to help with this? Stupid bureaucracy!
