Mrs Limestone – I have loved all your color choices.

Questions:
1) My daughter’s room is painted BM Lily Lavender – what color drapes would go well?

2) If I have carrera marble tiles installed on bathroom floors, what color grout goes well with that?

3) What are your paint colors again by room?

  1. Im not an expert but thanks for asking what I think 🙂

Im not sure what type of purple Lily Lavender is but I’d need to know more about the room to give you a suggestion on drapes. Do you have a photo of the room? What color is the trim, what kind of furniture/rugs you’re using, etc. If the color is a bright purple, I’d stay away from another bright color unless you want to have a really visually strong room. I know a lot of people go for really strong colors in childrens rooms but thats not my style. I think a childs room should be just as soothing as an adults bedroom. Anyway, without knowing more, its hard to say. My first instinct with a room like lavender is to go very soft with the rest of the colors in the room. Grays would be very sophisticated. Adding creams would make it a little more sweet country style. Whites would be very precious, like a nursery. If you want to go monocromatic, you could use another shade of purple but then you sort of have to commit to doing that for the entire room which is pretty hard to do.

For your tiles, I also need to know more but the safe choice is going with a pale gray grout. That way you are highlighting the tiles, not the grout lines.

Rehab is right – all of my color choices are in my blog. If you have a particular color you are searching for and can’t find, let me know. I know them all by heart but its a lot to type out here.

    Hope that helps!

  2. Personally I think Mrs. L was really generous to post all that stuff online in the first place, and you can find it all with a little hunting in the archives. That said, lavendar walls would looks nice with deeper purple drapes, no? 🙂
