Do such a thing exist? if so, any recommendations>?

  1. You can google wireless doorbells and get a few hits. I did that last year when I needed a wireless bell until I could find someone who would rewire the old bell for me (and I haven’t found anyone willing to do it yet). There aren’t that many different manufacturers around, so it shouldn’t be difficult to find a unit online. Otherwise, Home Depot or Lowe’s would be a good bet as previous posters suggested.

  2. Make sure you get one from a store with a good return policy. We had to try a few before getting one that did not ring unexpectedly. All sorts of frequencies can set them off. But the one we have now is very reliable. Sorry I don’t have the name with me.

  3. Was very happy with ours until we finally had our bell rewired. The batteries last a long time which is good. Not very attractive, but functional. Maybe they have better looking ones now.

  4. Sometimes I am in the cellar or on top floor so I do not hear the door knocker.

What about, one doorbell, two chimes, one chime on a lower floor and one chime on an upper floor so you never miss a visitor.

  5. Make sure you get a model or brand that has multiple frequency settings. I had them temporarily. Sometimes when the bell rang it also rang the wireless doorbell of my neighbor across the street on the same frequency.

  6. The definitely exist. I don’t remember the brand name off the top of my head, but I bought one that comes with two buzzers and the box that actually rings has different chimes you can set for each buzzer/bell.

Lowes, Home Depot or any local hardware store should carry them.
