I am looking for someone to redo my stoop and the facade of my brownstone. So many renovations I have seen seem to destroy th look of the brownstone. They stoops end up with a pick shade and they really just look like they’ve been covered in painted concrete. Can anyone recommend someone who can keep replicate the original brownsotne look? Thanks

  1. I am just doing a brownstone restoration on 5th ave and 129 st. Before you hire a contractor ask them what kind of product have they used before. That is very important. Do not allow to restore brownstone restoration with portland cement. Portland cement create reaction and very soon will come off. If you would like to know more about brownstone give me a call 347-682-1702

  2. FYI, Metro Restoration’s number is 917-494-7213. Hassan will answer.

I assume that is who 9:29 refers to. I second the recommendation, although my job was not brownstone.

  3. Metro Waterproofing has just finished refacing a neighbor’s house on our landmarked block. When I complimented my neighbor on her new facade, she told me that Metro had to comply with Landmark’s selection of the brownstone color, so you might want to consider Metro. If they were required to match the color on a landmarked house, I’m sure they can match an appropriate color for your house and not make it look artificial. I don’t have Metro’s phone number, but they are listed.
