“One thing, i don’t know if you are from out of town but there is no MLS in New York city so you may have to work with more than one broker or do some legwork yourself.”
WRONGO… http://www.BNYMLS.com is the website for the Brooklyn New York MLS… over 350 brokerages.. appx 3500 agents…
I hate when people say there is no MLS in Brooklyn… It’s been around over 40 years… along with the Brooklyn Board of Realtors (over 100 years old)… get yr facts straight.
And obviously you can look on corcoran.com, etc. It shouldn’y be that hard to find listings for 2-3 family homes in ANY neighborhood.

Brand new 2 family house for sale, 1136 49 street Brooklyn ny 11219, 2,100 s.f. each apartment + 1000 s.f. in basement, price 1,600,000 please call me 347-645-1508
I don’t understand it when people ask for a buyer’s broker. Is it because you don’t want to scour the listings yourself? Buyer’s brokers don’t really work in NYC, for many reasons. It’s not done the way it is in the rest of the country. Just do the research yourself. It’s not that hard.
Elizabeth Pizzulli at Corcoran. Professional, smart, always available and very hardworking. She helped me for over 1 year before we found a suitable property. If you want more info, leave email.

OK….
Anybody have a suggestion regarding a place to start if looking specifically for a 2 or 3 family building? Thanks.
I think all of these – “Any Broker Recommendations” are really ploys by Brokers to respond to their own postings and hype themselves.
Otherwise, these posting dont make much sense to me either….
