Termites! How bad are they??
Hi. I am in contract to buy a house that has termites. The house has been treated before but they are still there. It is too late to pull out as I did not do an inspection in a timely matter. Are termites difficult to get rid of in a 4 story house?
Hi.

I could really use a recommendation for a termite inspector. Anyone?
Are the sellers reasonable? Perhaps they weren’t aware of the problem and would be willing to re-negotiate before closing. What does your lawyer say?
RUN RUN RUN the damage is done!
if treated the right way .it’s not hard to get rid of them .
OP – out of curiousity, is this house on Decatur?
Could the home inspector see how bad the damage is? I bought a house with some old termite damage and it’s been fine, though it wasn’t active termite damage and it was minimal. I had it treated and it has been OK. I can’t really answer your question about how difficult it is to get rid of them, but my guess is that it will require consistent and aggressive treatments. I paid $1000 for a treatment.
who makes a gigantic decision to purchase a house and then dilly-dallies about getting the inspection done?
it boggles the mind.
In order to get rid of termites, an exterminator will typically spray borate on the infested sections of wood.
The answer to your question really depends on where the termites are and what needs to be removed to get to the affected areas.
