Does anyone know where I can find wood pocket shutters for the windows in my brownstone.

  1. I used John Beers who completely rebuilt my 1830’s pocket shutters – they were actually painted in by over 20 coats and you couldn’t tell they were shutters. He removced them, rebuilt the pockets, stripped the pockets and shutters, replaced missing pieces on the shutters and reinstalled / repainted. I know he had some old spares he got from the renovations in a neighboring apartment (vintage 1830’s), he also builds historically accurate replacements custom – he did some custom work for me too which was beautifully done – no one can tell it’s not original. 2. I just bought a small coop apt. The windows are really crappy. Would like to replace them with something economical.

    any suggestions?

also, I’m replacing ugly bifold mirrored closet doors, but I can’t find anything I like. All those louvered doors look the same to me. Any creative suggestions or nice doors that you’ve found?

    Thanks!

  3. Found three windows+ in a dumpster, as well as a ton of cove an crown molding. Look around crown heights and bedstuy and sunset park on weeknights- wherever there are neighborhoods where the brownstones haven’t all been gutted yet.
