Hot Bird
Does anyone remember Hot Bird? Did you eat there? Was it any good? Where was it, exactly? Love the name…very evocative, to me, at least, of NY in the 70s.

Also, Joloff if your taste runs to West African…it’s not Jerk Chicken, anyway.
Thanks. Just moved to Clinton Hill myself, near Atlantic. Try Brown Betty Cafe on Grand. I’ve also had delivery from Epoca over on Fulton. More restaurants are coming in…a friend just opened a place called Speakeasy, on Waverly and I believe Gates or Greene, don’t know if they are delivering yet.
They were on Vanderbilt around Prospect place.
I liked their BBQ chicken, but they were pricey for what it was…but they delivered, which was good, and they had a computer. Just give them your phone#, and they knew what you wanted. When they closed, I started ordering from Big Al’s on the circle in Windsor Terrace (delivery). They also went out of business. Now I live in Clinton Hill, and almost nobody delivers (Choice/Yummy Taco/crummy pizza)…I still have to eat!!! Jerk Chicken is good, but I need more.
Hot Bird was a VERY good take-out barbecue chicken place. I brought their food home quite often–I’ve yet to find their equal.
Was actually the mid 90’s. And a chain that barely made it to brooklyn before dying. Grilled chicken — not very good.
