I am looking for temporary accomodation while I do some intrusive renovation at home. I have to take every little thing out, and need to keep it away for some months. Has anyone used a storage company that can recommend for short term storage? Any that I should stay away from? Do you have an idea how much they charge?
Many thanks.
Stay away from the Public Storage facility on Gold and Tillary. They are renovating and forcing everyone out in waves. And not telling new customers about it.
Oz Moving is great, though their storage rates aren’t competitive with a self-storage facility.
OP here, thanks a lot for your comments. I think I will start calling the moving companies for estimates that include storage. Thank you both.
We are using Premier Storage on 3rd Avenue and Carrol. 855-2100 It is clean, feels safe and secure and the owner is very polite. The movers he recommended were excellent-more cautious with my furniture than I am. The price really depends on the size of your space. A 10 x 15 is $310 per month. Maybe a few dollars more than other places but it is convenient for us.
Try Oz Moving if you want them to come in, pack everything up, take it away and store it, and even bring it back and unpack it when you’re done. How expensive it is obviously depends on how much stuff you have and how long it takes to pack – but they will come and do a free estimate for you. I used them and found them to be shockingly reasonable (and their estimate was actually a little higher than the final cost).
