I love vintage lamps. It’s just such a pain to get them rewired! I’ve really done it this time. I bought about 6 vintage lamps that need new wiring. My electrician told me it would not be cost effective for him to do it. I think he just wasn’t interested. So where do I go now? Is there an electric repair shop in Brooklyn who will rewire my lamps? Thanks in advance for suggestions.

  2. The lamps aren’t broken. They’re perfect. They just need new wires and sockets.

I’ve been collecting vintage pottery and lamps for 25 years, since I was 14. I do know what I’m doing! And I’ll do what I please with my own money, thank you! What a bizarre post at 10:59.

  3. We have an architectural salvage business in Albany and we use the local trade school. They repair them in the electrical trades and we compensate them. If you have a local school, you can contact them.

  4. Lamp Doctor on Coney Island Avenue. Great Place and pretty quick too. A little pricey, but they do good job.

Also, it is very easy to rewire a lamp yourself.
