    These are the best of the best. They are highly professional people that have worked on some of the finest homes in New York. Traditional Line did the Frank Lloyd Wright room at the Met.

  3. Try angieslist.com. They are giving free 1 year memberships to anyone who signs up in the tri-state area. I used it and was successful in finding good contractors.

  4. I have previously recommended Ambiance Improvement (917-907-1100). I was very pleased with their work on my PS townhouse. The quality of the work was very high and they were very professional. The owner was on the job almost every day. They did not give me the lowest bid, but I chose them for the quality of the work and I felt the price was reasonable for the end result and the great working relationship. I think the anecdotes in the forum tend to prove that you do get what you pay for. Whoever you use, make sure to check references.
