We just had A.S.K. Construction http://www.askconstruction.com/ (who are fully certified with all the right people) do an audit on our three story brownstone ($350 which is deducted from the work you have done) and are very pleased with the results. We dealt with Jimmy who says he has 20 years of experience doing this and seems to really know his stuff. The results were predictable – we need insulation, new windows, weather stripping on the doors, etc. – but hard test results from the audit showed just how bad things were. They not only follow through to implement all of the changes (including installing the windows), but file all necessary paperwork to get you $$ back from the state for the improvements as well as super-low-rate loan applications for the cost. So far so good. We should have done this four years ago when we moved in.
