If a building is classified as “C5 (Converted dwellings or rooming house)” does that automatically mean it’s an SRO? I’ve looked this up on DOF, DOB, and HPD but the information is still unclear and conflicting. Thank you.

  1. A C5 is the Dept of Finance tax designation for your building. It is not the legal designation. Only the DOB record(s) such as a C of O can legally describe of your building. email me your address and I’ll look it up for you netarc@att.net
