I haven’t had luck finding anyone who would retrofit my existing fire escape gates with a “quick-release” latch.

Any recommendations?

I have a 3 story building with fire escape in front. For security reasons window gates were installed on each floor by the fire escape window. The gates swing open, but they are locked with a pad-lock, which obviously very unsafe.

thanks.

  1. My local locksmith was able to take out and install latched fire gates for about $300 each. I think most locksmiths can do this–pretty standard. And they even have different colors, designs, etc to choose from, so you can make them pretty if you want…
