Need to fix Stoop Stairs

I just had my stoop done by J & L Landscaping 718-85500446. Very professional crew–clean and fast. 3.5 days to do my stoop and adjoining neighbors–4 steps with limestone and a 3 foot by 10 foot platform of concrete framed with limestone. $6,000. Thought price was expensive at first, but it included clean up and the final product looks great.
Brick steps in the NYC climate are a nightmare. My advise? Get a mason to rebuild the stoop with flagstone or cast stone treads, that will help enormously. Otherwise you will face the same cracks in five years.
Masonry contractors are plentiful in Brooklyn. Drive around your neib and see who is doing similar repairs and take down the name and numbers. This kind of work is very local.
