I’m looking for any recomendations on a art framing business that can do conservation framing for a litograph.
Any recomendatinos or places to avoid?

  1. I have used Yale framing on 5th ave. and around 26th st. lately. THey did a great job, and suggested some beautiful framing ideas. They were quick and reasonable.

  2. Darren on Sterling Place btw Flatbush and 7th Ave is a true professional. He has great taste and is completely up on the most appropriate ways to frame valuable and/or fragile artwork. He has done many pieces for me over the past 6-7 years. Btw, this is the same business that used to be on 7th Ave, trading as Prints Charming. Darren worked there for several years before purchasing it from the former owner. Since taking over, he’s added some great new frame lines.

  3. Seth Bogdanove at Frame It & Company, 767Third Ave.

They make nice frames, but all I’ve personally had him do is cut mats for me. Seth tells me that he’s a certified conservation framer.

  4. If you’re in the Clinton Hill – Fort Greene area, check out Clinton Hill Simply Art & Framing on 583 Myrtle Ave (corner of Classon). The proprietor also has a gallery on Vanderbilt, and an increasing amount of her business is dedicated to art restoration. She repaired a framed papyrus for me, so I can definately recommend. Her number is (718) 857-0074.

  5. Try Make-a-Frame on Atlantic Avenue. I have had several paintings framed and an antique glass reverse painted picture reframed here. They are super concientious with artwork and can spend time with you choosing appropriate materials for framing.
