A/C and Electrical Question
My tenant has two window a/c units in his apt. He says that periodically the a/c units trip the circuit breakers. They are on separate breakers. Sometimes they trip at the same time, sometimes not. I don’t think this is strictly an a/c issue – and think maybe the breakers aren’t sized correctly. Has anyone had a similar experience and how did they solve it? Any recommendations for an electrician would be appreciated.

First step is to read the power requirements on the AC and then the AMP rating on the breakers. Then figure out what each breaker services- flip it off and run around testing outlets and lights. If the total load for each circuit is withing the breaker’s rated capacity then you have a fault somewhere- breaker, wire or appliance.
