Moving Circuit Breaker Box
My husband and I wouldl ike to knock down a wall that currently contains our circuit breaker box. We would like to relocate the box to another wall, maybe 4 feet from its current location. Can someone give me an idea of the cost associated with such a move? Thanks

I also am in the process of renovation an I only need to move the panel about a foot and a half . I believe I can do the job but should I have a electrician do because of the shock factor or is it required to pull the meter.

In the midst of speccing renovations ourselves, and this came up. A contractor relative pointed out that there’s a lot of uncertainty in moving a breaker box, because there may not be a lot of slack in the lines, which results in having to re-run lines to the new location of the box.
Additionally, like everything else, there may be code issues – if the current electrical system isn’t up to code, a licensed electrician is going to want you to address those issues as well.
