I am spending the weekend in the catskills and was wondering if there are any shops/towns that people recommend if I am looking for mantles, hardware, doors, etc.

  1. Hudson has a GREAT salvage warehouse – the store is on the main street almost at the top of the hill on your left if you’re facing away from the river – a little past the cafe and has tons of sinks and tubs and things, but then they have a HUGE warehouse across and a little down from the train station with just amazing stuff. doors, ironwork, ALL sorts of stuff. Wish I could remember the name… You have to go to the store and ask them to go down to the warehouse with you. I highly reccommend going there, you’ll probably find everything you’re looking for.

  2. Eddie is open Tuesdays – 4:58 is right about closed Sunday and Monday. Opens at noon and closes at 6. Go there. It’s a wonderland and Eddie is terrific.

  3. Newbie, Eddie’s on Greene and Grande. Closed Sundays and Mondays (and Tuesdays?) and he doesn’t open his doors until noon. Don’t call..just go.

  4. I don’t remember the names of the shops, but they are pretty much Main St Margaretteville and Andes. Also, Flieschmanns has an auction, but I don’t know the details. It’s a beautiful area. Even if you don’t find salvage, enjoy your weekend!

  5. Thank you for the suggestions. We will be outside if Kingstin. I have been at Zaborski Emporium before, but always found him to be a bit expensive for what he has. Any suggestions if I was to head to the Andes area?
