Donato Plumbing
Has anyone heard of them or used them? We are redoing our bathroom and had a contractor give us an estimate, he recommended contacting Donato but I cant find them anywhere in Brooklyn. Would love some feedback. Thanks!

I am a renter but have had several experiences with Donato Plumbing. we had some large plumbing work done in the building (a two family brownstone and the owners live upstairs) and they seemed to bee doing a really good job. While they were replacing the main stack (main vertical drain in the house), they dropped several large pieces of the old pipe into the system and never retrieved them. They finished the job and all was well but not for long. Late on thursday night the system started backing up into my tub, sink and toilet. Waste water from the building above. They were called the next morning (no emergency number). They did not show up until the next afternoon at 3pm. The tore off one of the access caps in the basement and since they did not bring a snake with them, decided that there was nothing they could do so they left for the weekend leaving the main drain open without a cap because they destroyed it.
At this point I decided to try to see if there was anything I could do figuring at the very least I could go and get a new cap to put on. I got a new cap from Lowes and before I put it on I stuck a 2 foot long stick in the pipe to see if there was anything that was right there. Sure enough the clog dislodged and we were able to use water again for the weekend. I thought it was pretty crappy that they just left for the weekend with an open sewer line and unable to use any water.
Since this time a couple years ago they have been by (because my landlady still wants to use them) and I have not been impressed with their work. They really seem to do the bare minimum and nothing more unless things go wrong. I would go elsewhere for all of my plumbing needs.
They almost completely replumbed our house when we did a renovation and did an decent job but they installed some radiators wrong that we we had to have re-done (first we tried through them and then had to go to another plumber)and I needed some final paper work from them and it tooks months before they got it to us. Which costs me a lot of money and wasted time. They are nice people but I will not use them again nor do I recommend them.
Used them more than a few times and they were excellent. Very easy to work with.
